Is Yahoo the only place where you meet people who don't share your views?

I mean, I am just an elitist, Ivy-educated snob who shuns the little people and spends his spare time eating arugula, sipping Chardonnay, socializes with foreigners, watches Truffaut films, lives half the year in San Francisco and the other half in New York City, with extended periods in Western Europe, of course. I drive my Prius home from the university where I teach (Berkeley) and indoctrinate all my students........OK, that was made up, and I don't personally know anyone like that, but I wonder, do those who go around describing liberals as the above, really ever interact with people like that? Do those self-identified liberals ever really interact with the types of people they categorize as semi-literate troglodytes who spend all their time watching NASCAR, drinking cheap beer and supporting the likes of Bush and Palin. When or where do you meet these people? I don't know anyone who acts either way. Why do we seem to address people as if they were all embodiments of the most extreme and extremist make up only a small segment of the population?
