From the Canterbury Tales, who tells jokes that are reeked in sin? and who is the pardoners companion?
The Miller, the Reeve, and the Summoner (the Pardoner's companion) all tell dirty stories, and the Cook evidently starts to. The Shipman's Tale is only slightly cleaner, and the Merchant's Tale, although strung out with clical and pseudo-courtly trimmings, makes the Miller's Tale look rather wholesome by comparison. However, if you're thinking of Chaucer's statement in the Retractions, he may have meant more of the Canterbury Tales than just those. Several others carry a message contrary to the orthodox morality of the time.
